Description: Americo Roble Spanish is a distinguished wine from the Toro Appellation, made exclusively from the Tinta de Toro varietal. It boasts a rich, intense red hue with violet edges, reminiscent of the wild berries from which it originates. The wine’s aroma is a harmonious blend of vanilla, subtle spices, and a hint of lactic sweetness, culminating in a round, creamy, and sweet palate. Aged in a combination of Spanish and American oak barrels, this wine is a testament to the art of winemaking, offering a structured yet elegant profile.
Tasting Notes:
- Color: High layer of intense red with violet edges.
- Aroma: Wild berries, vanilla undertones, subtle spices, and lactic notes.
- Palate: Glyceric, round, creamy, and sweet.
- Finish: Persistent, and structured, with a harmonious integration of its barrel aging.
Vineyard & Production: Sourced from free-standing vines aged between 25-80 years, the grapes are handpicked at their peak maturity. The soil, a blend of clay-silt-sand with a high gravel content, ensures a low yield, enhancing the grape’s quality. The wine undergoes traditional fermentation, ensuring the temperature remains below 25º. It’s then aged for a minimum of 7 months in a mix of Spanish (40%) and American (60%) oak barrels.
Gastronomy: Perfectly complements semi-cured and cured cheeses, cold meats, both white and red meats, roasts, stews, and game dishes.
Presentation: The wine is presented in a Bordeaux bottle, aging gracefully before reaching the market. It’s available in vertical boxes of 6 or 12 bottles. The label, designed by Toro artist Carlos Adeva, pays homage to the voyages of “La Pinta” transporting Toro wines, inspired by the routes mapped by Americo Vespucci.
Storage Recommendations: Store in a cool, dark place, ideally between 14º to 16º C. Keep the bottle horizontal to ensure the cork remains moist, preventing air from entering the bottle.
